Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2024 begins

The 3 edition of the Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2024 commenced with Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, also the President of Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA), as the special guest on Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2024 begins
This sporting extravaganza, under the theme “Stronger Together,” is set to host more than 4000 athletes from 16 districts, informed the DIPR.
In his address, CM Rio highlighted the significance of the Nagaland Olympic Association as the state’s largest and most prestigious sporting event. He emphasized the transformative power of sports and urged athletes to aspire for greatness. Rio noted the affiliation of the Nagaland Olympic Association with the Indian Olympic Association in 2004, underscoring the state government’s commitment to infrastructure, game development, and the establishment of a scientific sports ecosystem.
Furthermore, Rio announced that the state will host the North Eastern Olympic Games next month, with all eight states expected to participate, marking a historic milestone in the state’s sporting landscape.
Reflecting on the event’s theme, “Stronger Together,” Rio emphasized the unifying force of sports, urging athletes to serve as ambassadors of peace and unity.
The Chief Minister lauded the relentless efforts of the organizing committee in overcoming logistical challenges to ensure the successful execution of the event. He also acknowledged the invaluable contribution of volunteers to such endeavors.
The Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2024 will take place in Dimapur and Chümoukedima.
