Uttarakhand plans legacy policy to ensure long-term use of sports infrastructure ahead of National Games 2025
The Uttarakhand government is devising a plan to ensure the long-term utilization of sports infrastructure developed for the National Games 2025, scheduled from January 28 to February 14. A proposal to establish sports academies at venues with enhanced facilities is being included in a legacy policy draft by the Sports Department, which aims to sustain sports activities post-Games.
Uttarakhand government has started working out a plan to ensure long-term use of the infrastructure facilities developed in the field of sports by it in view of the National Games 2025 which the state hosts. The 38th edition of the National Games will be held from January 28 to February 14 in Uttarakhand.
A proposal is being prepared to set up sports academies at all such places where infrastructure is developed for proper sports facilities ahead of the National Games 2025. The government aims to continue the sports activities in a better manner after the National Games 2025. The proposal to set up sports academies will be included in the draft of legacy policy by the Sports Department. The sports department will soon send the proposal to the state government seeking its approval.
The release said Uttarakhand has learnt from the experiences of other states. “Amidst the preparations for the National Games, work on the draft of the legacy policy is also going on at a fast pace,” the release said.
