Yogi promises sports infra up to village panchayat level in UP

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said that the government will soon ensure accessible sporting facilities
across the state.The government intends to construct a stadium in every district, a mini stadium in every developing town, and a playground with an open gym in every village panchayat, said the CM while addressing a 21-km all-women half marathon in Dubagga.

The event, organized by Union state minister Kaushal Kishore, saw  the participation of about 4,000 women.
The CM also highlighted the government initiatives to train  women and youth groups, such as Mahila Mandal Dal and Yuva Mandal Dal. He informed that 60,000 sports kits have been distributed to these groups so far, stating, “These achievements showcase our rapid progress towards shaping an aspirational and new India.”
He also emphasized the importance of physical fitness and its role in building a healthy mind and a developed

Yogi drew parallel from ancient India, where sages prioritized a healthy body for a healthy mind. He stated, “The
Yogi promises sports infra up to village panchayat level in UP – Times of India more physically fit we are, the more mentally stable we will be. This, in turn, will help in creating a developed nation.”

The CM pointed to India’s recent successes in various sporting events, including the highest medal tally at the
Olympics, over 100 medals at the Asian Games, and a historic haul of over 100 medals at the Para Asian Games.
Earlier, deputy CM Brajesh Pathak and state BJP chief Bhupendra Chaudhary said that the state government is
working day and night to develop a sports culture in UP.
